Capricorn horoscope today
Capricorn today, Monday, October 5, read two ways: from the Sun sign, and from Makara Rashi for Moon sign Capricorn. The Moon is in your 8th: shared money, endings and what is not said. Handle the private matter privately; do not pick the fight in public.
Capricorn horoscope today, read two ways. Here is what it tends to bring, in the Western voice and the Vedic one, as Makara rashi.
Western voice, for Sun sign Capricorn · Moon in your 8th
Everyone born with the Sun in Capricorn shares this sky today. Below is what it tends to bring in the Western voice, counted from the Sun sign, and in the Vedic voice, counted from Makara for those whose Moon sign is Capricorn. Then the part no column can do: the same day read from your own chart.
This season
Saturn sits in your 4th this season, steady pressure on that part of life. Jupiter is in your 8th, growth in that area, if you make room for it.
Capricorn Moon sign (Makara Rashi) today
For people whose Moon sign is Capricorn, today's Moon is in the 7th from Makara, counted on the sidereal zodiac.
For Moon sign Capricorn, not Sun sign Capricorn · Chandra in the 7th from Makara
Chandra in the 7th: partnership and the marketplace. Deal fairly; every agreement made today echoes.
The reading above this one is for Sun sign Capricorn; this one is for Moon sign Capricorn. A Vedic rashifal is read from your Moon sign, your Rashi, and most people's Sun and Moon signs differ. Finding your Rashi needs your birth date, time and place: find your Rashi or use the Moon sign calculator. Sun sign, Moon sign, Rashi and Lagna, explained.
Shani and Guru from Makara Rashi this season
Shani transits the 3rd from Makara this season. Guru transits the 7th from Makara, a favourable count for sincere requests.
For Moon sign Capricorn, the Moon passes the 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th from Makara this week. Saturn and Jupiter are counted on the sidereal zodiac; how transits are counted.
The week ahead
The Moon moves through your 8th, 9th, 10th this week, counted from Capricorn. Best days are when it sits in your 1st, 3rd, 5th, 9th or 11th; go gently when it is in your 8th or 12th.
This is a sign-level reading: true for one twelfth of the world. Your own reading uses your Moon, your rising sign and the period you are living through, and it is free from your birthday.
How it is worked out
At the last hourly update, the Moon was in Leo on the Western zodiac. Counted from Capricorn as the 1st sign, that is your 8th. The Sun-sign line is what the Moon in that house tends to bring.
The Makara reading runs the same count on the sidereal zodiac, the one Vedic astrology uses. There the Moon was in Karka, the 7th from Makara. The two zodiacs sit about 24 degrees apart, so the two counts can differ by a sign.
The season lines come from where Saturn and Jupiter sit, counted the same way on each zodiac. The positions come from an astronomical ephemeris. The date shown is the day in UTC. How Horoskope reads a chart.
What this cannot tell you
- The Sun-sign reading is the same for everyone with the Sun in Capricorn, about one person in twelve.
- The Makara reading is right for you only if your Moon sign, your Rashi, is Makara. Many people with the Sun in Capricorn have a different one.
- Neither can know your rising sign or the period you are in. Those need your birth details.
- The date is the UTC day. Where you live it may already be tomorrow, or still yesterday.

How is today's Capricorn horoscope worked out?
